History :

The Department of Architecture was established in 1396 AH (1976); as one of the School of Environmental Design departments at the time. Since its beginning, the department has participated in developing the local society in terms of graduating qualified architects able to meet the urban growth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in general, the rapid development of the City of Jeddah, in particular. In 1432 AH (2011), Master Program has been started; benefitting from the capabilities of the department and its research infrastructure.

The Department of Architecture accommodates 8 design studios adopting various design approaches and teaching pedagogies. This has allowed for rich and integrated learning experiences.
